Last updated: 6 September 2026

This notice explains which cookies and similar technologies are used by www.bedandbreakfastdari.com, for what purposes, how long they stay on your device and how you can change your choices at any time.

It is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Privacy Code) and the Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority on 10 June 2021.

1. Data controller

Riccardo Villa, acting as a natural person
Accommodation "B & B Da Rì" — CIN IT087015C1ZZBJBA4Y
Via Umberto, 150 — 95129 Catania (CT), Italy
Telephone: +39 095 2165060 — +39 331 2891672
E-mail: [email protected]

The accommodation is run on a non-business basis: the Controller is a private individual and does not hold an Italian VAT number. The establishment is identified by the National Identification Code (CIN) shown above.

The Controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer, the conditions of Article 37 GDPR not being met.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit send to your browser, where they are stored and sent back to the same websites on your next visit. Alongside cookies there are other technologies with a similar function (for example the browser's local storage): where used, they are covered by this notice in the same way as cookies.

3. What happens before you choose

Until you express a choice through the banner, the site installs no analytics or advertising cookie on your device and uses neither the browser's local storage nor its session storage. There are no profiling cookies and no advertising networks.

Before your choice, only the technical cookies described in section 4 remain active; Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code exempts them from the consent requirement.

4. Technical cookies (necessary, no consent required)

NameOriginPurposeLifetime
pll_languageFirst partyStores the language you selected, Italian or English, so pages are served in the right version. Set by the site's multilingual system.365 days
cookieadmin_consentFirst partyStores the choice made through the banner and a random consent identifier, so the banner is not shown again on every page and a record of your choice is kept.365 days

The cookieadmin_consent cookie is set when you express a choice and, under Article 122 of the Privacy Code, does not require consent: its very purpose is to remember the choice you made.

These two are the only cookies the site sets before you make a choice, and both are first-party. No third-party cookie is set on any page, either before or after consent, except the analytics cookies described in section 5, which are first-party as well.

5. Analytics cookies (set only with your consent)

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are most visited and through which channels visitors arrive. Data is collected in pseudonymised form, is not cross-referenced with other records and is not used to profile individual visitors. We do not use Google Analytics advertising features.

These cookies are set only after you have given your consent. If you decline, none of them is set and no data is sent to Google Analytics.

6. Services that connect without setting cookies

Some external services are contacted while pages load without setting any cookie. They therefore fall outside Article 122, but they do cause your IP address to be transmitted to the provider, which is why we declare them explicitly.

ServiceWhat it involvesLegal basis
Cloudflare TurnstileAnti-spam system that tells human visitors from automated submissions without asking questions and without tracking your browsing. It is present on every page carrying a form and is contacted when the page loads: Cloudflare receives your IP address and some technical characteristics of your browser. It sets no cookie and does not use local storage: verified by reading the browser's entire cookie store.Legitimate interest in form security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

The site's typefaces are hosted on our own servers and are not downloaded from external providers: no data is transmitted to Google Fonts.

The site does not embed social network widgets, Facebook or Instagram pixels, external chat systems or third-party video players. The links to Facebook, Instagram, Booking.com and Tripadvisor on the pages are plain links: nothing is loaded from those domains until you click.

7. Embedded content blocked until consent

The Google Maps map on the Contatti and Contacts pages is blocked at source: a placeholder is shown instead of the map and no request is sent to Google servers until you consent to the corresponding category.

If you activate the map, the iframe is loaded from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address, the address of the page you are visiting and your browser's technical characteristics. We have verified that, in this configuration, the map sets no cookie: neither on load nor when you interact with it. If you have a Google account and are signed in, Google may still associate the view with your account under its own privacy notice.

8. How to express and change your choices

On your first visit a banner appears allowing you to:

  • accept all cookies;
  • reject all non-essential cookies — the refusal takes effect immediately and does not restrict your use of the site in any way;
  • customise your choices by category (Functional, Analytics, Advertising). When the panel opens, all optional categories are switched off: none is pre-selected.

Closing the banner without choosing does not amount to acceptance: until you express a choice, optional cookies remain blocked.

After your choice the banner disappears and an icon remains available at the bottom left of every page, allowing you to reopen the panel and change or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent.

You can also manage or delete cookies from your browser settings:

Deleting the cookieadmin_consent cookie will cause the banner to reappear on your next visit.

9. Transfers outside the European Union

The Google services described on this page are provided within the European Union by Google Ireland Limited. Some processing may involve transfers of data to Google LLC in the United States. The Turnstile service is provided by Cloudflare, Inc., based in the United States.

Such transfers take place on the basis of the European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 concerning the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, to which both Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. adhere, supplemented by the standard contractual clauses set out in Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914 and by additional technical and organisational measures. The list of certified organisations is available on the Data Privacy Framework website.

10. Your rights

You may at any time request access to the data concerning you, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, object to processing and exercise the right to data portability (Articles 15-22 GDPR), as well as withdraw your consent at any time. Requests should be sent to [email protected].

If you believe the processing infringes the applicable law you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome, Italy — www.garanteprivacy.it).

For the processing of personal data in general — availability requests, contact forms and stays — please refer to the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated to reflect changes in the law or in the services used by the site. Each version shows the date of the last update at the top. Where changes affect the purposes of cookies subject to consent, your choice will be requested again.
